There are currently 8 research programmes running within CDISS. Overall responsibility for the maintenance, content and output of these lies with the Director of Studies in consultation with the Director and individual programme heads. Each programme addresses a topic of contemporary relevance in the international defence and security debate. Links to programme pages can be found below:
These core programmes, each under the leadership of a recognised subject-matter expert, constitute the main effort of CDiSS. Through them the Centre is able to contribute to and further understanding of each individual subject area by generating dialogue, publishing papers and running events. In addition the programmes and the publications resulting from them provide a comprehensive research tool for those looking to develop their own knowledge.

CDiSS Director of Studies Martin Edmonds is a leading academic
and editor of the journal Defense and Security Analysis who has enjoyed a
distinguished career both in the UK and internationally. His research
interests include defence critical technologies, UK defence policy, and
the commercialisation of defence. His work has been published widely and
among these titles are: International Arms Procurement, Defence Equation,
and Central Organisations of Defence.
